Alison LaBoissonniere Boyd

General Counsel and Director of Marketing

Experience

Growing up on Rhode Island and watching the ships go by was the beginning of Alison’s life-long fascination with international trade. At law school in London, she became research assistant to a renowned international law professor and Hague Delegate. She interned with English barristers, focusing on the comparative and complementary nature of British, European Union and American commercial law, before earning her Legum Magister [Master of Laws] LL.M in International Trade Law.

Alison initially worked in finance law for a ‘Magic Circle’ London law firm, before joining her husband, Bradford, at ANOVA in 2012. Today she is General Counsel and Director of Marketing, helping the firm to serve the continuing shifts in the industry and develop advanced services and systems.

Personal passions

“I live with my husband and two sons, sometimes in Miami, and some of the time in a more rural setting up in the northeast. When I’m not shuttling my boys to all of their sporting events, I enjoy playing the piano, and family tours of the country in our RV.”

Alison says

“Bradford and I shared the same interests in the maritime and trade industries when we met in law school. When the opportunity presented itself for me to join him at ANOVA, I did not think twice about returning to my love of trade.”
