Angel M. Mederos
Co-Founder and Senior Executive Vice President
Angel moved to Miami from Cuba in 1990 and quickly took a position handling traffic in the ocean department of Panalpina, a large Swiss logistics company. He then worked with other logistics companies in the area, focusing on freight forwarding, representing clients such as Whirlpool, the Royal Malaysian Air Force, Eastman Kodak, and eventually the ARCO Project (which was the installation of a submarine cable in the Caribbean by Siemens).
It was when he moved across to insurance, working for the Miami office of a large German insurance broker that he met Bradford Boyd and set-up ANOVA in 2011. Today, has been elevated to the role as Director of Claims for ANOVA. He regularly speaks at conferences and teaches underwriters about complex claims at insurer’s seminars.
“I live in Florida with my wife and two sons. I enjoy spending time traveling and cooking Cuban delicacies for family and friends, and volunteering for charities throughout South Florida (especially helping the people of Cuba).”
“I found that my background in freight forwarding not only gave me a special connection with our clients, but also allowed me to visualize and quickly understand their claims. This has allowed me to turn claims around quickly, which is appreciated by our clients and our insurance partners.”
